LAURUS NOBILIS (LAUREL LEAF), Victory and conquest

Native to Asia Minor (Turkey), the laurel tree was sacred to the gods, and the Temple of Apollo at Delphi was adorned with it. The Romans crowned the foreheads of victors or emperors with a wreath of woven laurel leaves. It is the symbol of conquerors: Alexander the Great, Caesar, Napoleon.

During periods of plague, its leaves were burned because their smoke had disinfectant properties.

The names “laureate” and “baccalaureate” come from bacca laurea, meaning “laurel bays”.

Its aroma is fresh, penetrating, and deep. It inspires creators, artists, and all those who rely on intuition and inspiration. It boosts self-confidence and courage. It encourages pushing beyond one’s limits and self-conquest.

The essential oil is complex and contains over 200 components.

PROPERTIES: antibacterial +++, antiviral +++, antifungal +++, expectorant +++, analgesic, antispasmodic, balances the autonomic nervous system, neurotonic, and brain stimulant
