Calcium hydroxide (lime)

Calcium hydroxide is used to make limewater. Lime water is often used to make liniment which is used, among other things, to gently clean, protect and soothe baby’s skin (especially the buttocks) without the need to rinse.

TO MAKE LIMESTONE WATER you need:

• 1 litre of filtered water
• 10 g calcium hydroxide
• 2 bottles

1.  Boil the filtered water and let cool.
2.  Pour the slaked lime and cooled water into the first bottle.
3.  Close the bottle tightly and shake.
4.  Pour this mixture into a second bottle through a funnel lined with a paper filter.
5. That’s it! Your limewater is ready!
