What is a cream/lotion?
Examples of undesirable ingredients used in commercial creams and lotions
Overview of the basic healthy and natural ingredients in creams and lotions
Basics of how to make natural creams and lotions that will keep for several months
Review of some 15 essential oils useful in making creams and lotions
A hands-on experience in making face creams
Overview of several cream and lotion recipes for the whole family

Face Serum (with Annik)

Face Serum

When we think of body, skin or hair care, we naturally think of vegetable oils. And with good reason! Emollient, rich in fatty acids, nutrients and antioxidants, they are indispensable allies for health and beauty. In the cosmetics industry, both conventional and organic, they form the basis of all creams, emulsions and skincare oils.

In this course, we’ll examine the composition and function of vegetable oils, as well as how to store them. We will then review the properties of certain oils and their suitability for specific skin types. Finally, at the end of the class, we’ll make a serum to put into practice what we’ve learned.

This course will teach you how to effectively treat some common ailments in babies and children using essential oils. Suggested therapeutic formulas for the following ailments will be studied: otitis, colds, bronchitis/coughs, infant colic, sore throat, etc. A hands-on workshop is also planned for a few products (suppositories, otitis formula and ointment).

Family Aromatherapy (online)

Family Aromatherapy is a comprehensive 40-hour professional certification course based on the fundamentals of biochemical families, offered in a fun, practical and slightly scientific context. Some fifty essential oils and twenty simple, easy and accessible recipes will be reviewed.

This course is ideal for any therapist wishing to incorporate aromatherapy into their current practice. Individuals are also welcome!

A graduate of the Institut d’aromathérapie scientifique (IAS) and the Collège international d’aromathérapie Dominique Baudoux, Christine Gratton practices and teaches scientific and holistic aromatherapy in Québec and elsewhere. A humanist and visionary, she is the driving force behind Vivace Holistique, an international online aromatherapy school for natural health therapists.
